Scripture foundation

Psalm 121:1-8 BSB

A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber. Behold, the Protector of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is the shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul. The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Isaiah 54:10, 13-17 BSB

Though the mountains may be removed and the hills may be shaken, My loving devotion will not depart from you, and My covenant of peace will not be broken,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. ... Then all your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their prosperity. In righteousness you will be established, far from oppression, for you will have no fear. Terror will be far removed, for it will not come near you. If anyone attacks you, it is not from Me; whoever assails you will fall before you. Behold, I have created the craftsman who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its task; and I have created the destroyer to wreak havoc. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.

Proclamation

Most High God, I dwell in Your presence and place my trust under Your shadow. You are my refuge, fortress, and God. My confidence is not in superstition, ritual, or reckless behavior; my confidence is in Your faithful character.

Cover me, my household, and those entrusted to my care. Protect our going out and coming in. Give wisdom concerning travel, work, health, weather, technology, finances, relationships, and every practical responsibility. Expose hidden danger and lead us away from it. Keep us alert without fear and prudent without anxiety.

Deliver from traps, deception, violence, malicious intent, destructive habits, avoidable accidents, and spiritual oppression. Guard our minds from terror in the night and our decisions from confusion in the day. Preserve our dwelling and give us peace.

You neither slumber nor sleep. Be our keeper and shade. When we pass through waters, be with us; when through rivers, do not let them overflow; when through fire, preserve us according to Your wisdom and purpose.

Let no accusation overturn the righteousness You give in Christ. Let no weapon defeat Your purpose. Teach our children and grant them great peace. Establish us in righteousness, far from oppression and terror.

We will not test You, ignore safety, or quote protection promises as permission for foolishness. We receive Your guidance and obey it. Give Your angels charge according to Your will, and order our steps.

Because we set our love upon You, answer when we call. Be with us in trouble. Deliver, honor, satisfy, and show us Your salvation. We lie down in peace and sleep because You make us dwell in safety. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Use with wisdom
