Luke 10:33-35 BSB

But a Samaritan on a journey came upon him, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Take care of him,’ he said, ‘and on my return I will repay you for any additional expense.’

Proclamation

God cares about the body and every resource required for wise care. I receive qualified clinicians, medicine, treatment, equipment, insurance help, nutrition, transport, caregiving, rest, and clear information.

I ask questions, seek appropriate opinions, follow sound safety guidance, and refuse shame about receiving medical, professional, public, charitable, or family assistance.

God gives skill to caregivers and clinicians, exposes errors and harmful advice, and leads us in truth, peace, and timely action.

Prayer

Father, provide qualified clinicians, medicine, treatment, insurance, equipment, nutrition, transportation, caregivers, rest, and every resource required for wise care. Give skill to professionals and protect us from fear, harmful advice, and unnecessary delay. In Jesus' name, amen.

Faithful next actions

  • Contact qualified medical care or emergency services when symptoms or circumstances require it.
  • List the medicine, treatment, equipment, insurance, transportation, caregiving, or cost barrier that must be resolved.
  • Ask the clinician, insurer, pharmacy, employer, agency, manufacturer program, family, or church for the appropriate help.

Use with wisdom

  • This prayer is not medical diagnosis or a substitute for qualified care, emergency response, treatment, medication review, or safety planning.
  • Illness, disability, delayed healing, or need for assistance does not automatically prove personal sin or failed faith.
