Receive truthful conviction without surrendering to shame, false accusation, or hopeless self-condemnation.

Read Scripture first. This proclamation is a response to the text, not a replacement for it.

Scripture foundation

Colossians 2:13-15 BSB

When you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses, having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

1 John 4:4 BSB

You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Revelation 12:10-11 BSB

And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down—he who accuses them day and night before our God. They have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. And they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death.

Proclamation

Father, search me and reveal actual sin, harm, or responsibility. I will confess and correct what is true.

I reject vague shame, false accusation, obsessive self-punishment, and the lie that Christ’s mercy is unavailable to me.

The record against me was nailed to the cross. In Jesus I have forgiveness. Greater is He who is in me than the accuser.

I will walk in the light, receive correction, make restitution when needed, and rest in the finished work of Christ.

Faithful next actions

  • Write the exact accusation and test it against Scripture and facts.
  • Confess concrete wrongdoing; reject undefined shame.
  • Seek pastoral or clinical help for obsessive guilt or intrusive thoughts.

Use with wisdom

  • Use Scripture alongside responsible mental-health support, safety planning, and professional care when appropriate.
  • People are not the spiritual enemy. Do not use spiritual-warfare language to justify hatred, harassment, accusation, or unsafe behavior.
